The Apennines.
From Gubbio to Nocera Umbra
Gubbio is famous for the school of the ceramics. Linked
to names as famous as the ones of Mastro Giorgio Andreoli,
it represents a fundamental point of reference. Also here,
in addition to the revival of themes and colours of the
Renaissance, gold era of the handicraft of the ceramics,
there is a revival of more antique themes such as the ‘Etruscan
bucchero. In the Museum of “Palazzo dei Consoli”
and in the Museum of Torre of Porta Romana are preserved
important collections.
Gualdo Tadino had an activity of famous ceramists already
flourishing during the 14th century. Later on it will become
famous for the ability of its handicraftsmen in the use
of precious metals to decorate plates and vases. Nowadays
the handicraft shops are offering again the antique technique
that was forecasting the refining of the ceramics works
with pure gold. If you want to stay in a refined and exclusive
place, the TORRE
DI CORDAGLIE, Tower of the 13th century immerged in
the green hilly nature, it is exactly what you are looking
for.
